A Man and A Woman | The Thomas Crown Affair

Dear Members Last night was our pot luck supper to discuss the March movies. Everyone agreed it was a very depressing time back in Ireland and the struggles the family had just to eat.
The Matchmaker was a very light comedy to Balance the other film.About a senator who has to prove he has an irish background to get the irish vote in Boston. April movies to be announced here goes this month we will do our first foreign film A Man And A Women it is about two people that meet after losing their significant others. The second film is Thomas Crown Affair the one with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. We will do movie and dinner on April 20 at Jim and Lynne's at 5:30.  We'll watch the director's cut and see the director actually make that movie. If you have not seen it see it and we will watch the making of it with dinner. The title song made for the movie is The Windmills of your mind (I now have it stuck in my head). It was originally recorded by Noel Harrison son of Rex Harrison. movielynne

We will be sure and watch the selections but sadly will miss out on the "viewing" and din din at the Longworths. I will send comments on our thoughts after seeing the films.

The two movies were chosen one by one of our members the other by movielynne. I chose the Thomas Crown Affair, because of the recent news on the Gardner museum and the fact that the FBI knows the painings went to Pa. and Ct, I started thinking I just love that movie and that song is suck in my head. I hope you agree, see you on April 20 our barn for movie night. Movielynne

I enjoyed Thomas Crown Affair very much. The lead characters have great chemistry together and the supporting cast is terrific. I didn't realize until late in the movie that the policeman was joking when he said he was gay. Bummer...we need more gay cops :) I bought the MP3 file for the theme song from A Man & A Woman. You might hear it at the next dinner party at our house. I shouldn't admit this, but my favorite part in the movie was hearing the stuntman scream when he got himself blown up. Don't know why, but it seemed funny. Too much Benny Hill as a kid, I guess.
