Undertaking Betty

Hello Moviemainers:    The film for the month of February is Undertaking Betty, 2005 starring Brenda Blethyn, Al Molina, Christopher Walken and Naomi Watts.

I found this film on youtube, I had never heard of this film, so glad I checked it out.  The film tells the story of a woman whose husband cheats on her and does not treat her very nice, and she also has to care for her mother-in-law who is unkind.   The local mortician has been in love with her since they were in school.  Now this is a touching film with a nice amount of comedy, I hope you enjoy the film.   Christopher Walken steals the film , so funny.

Sun Valley Serenade

Hello Moviemainers, 

The film for the month of January is Sun Valley Serenade, 1941.  It stars Milton Berle, Sonja Henie and John Payne.  The film tells the story of a man who adopts a refugee (thinking it is a young child and ends up with an adult woman).  It also stars Glenn Miller and his orchestra.  The song Chattanooga Choo Choo became a number one hit after the film came out.  One more bit of trivia (I love trivia)... black ink was added to the water before freezing to create a mirror effect on the ice.
