Hobson's Choice

Hello Moviemainers, 

The film for the month of April is Hobson's Choice, 1954, starring John Mills and Charles Laughton.  This story is about a boot maker in the Victorian era who has three daughters who all want to marry but their father wants to keep them at home, cooking his meals, doing his laundry and running his shop for him.  When the oldest daughter decides she has had enough, she takes matters into her own hands.  You can see this for free on YouTube.

Blue Jasmine

Hello Moviemakers, 

The film for the month of March is Blue Jasmine, starring Kate Blanchett (she won the Academy Award for this). It's a 2013 comedy/drama about two sisters, one living the high life while the other works bagging groceries, and how their lives change and what happens when one sister loses it all.

The Promotion

Hello Moviemainers, 

First off, is there anyone out there?  I have not heard from anyone in a very long time.  

The film for the month of February is a little film called The Promotion, 2008 starring Sean William Scott and John C Reilly.  This is a film about two assistant managers both wanting the job as the new manager for a new grocery store opening up in the neighborhood.  I would not call this film a slap silly film, there are moments though.  You can see this for free on YouTube.  Let me know if you enjoyed the film.
